Ella's 2nd Birthday

Ella turned two a couple weeks ago! Ella turning two almost seemed harder than when she turned one. She just shouldn't be that old yet! She is such a sweet little girl, and while it is hard to believe she is two, she acts like she is five. :) The day of her birthday didn't go quite as planned (see the post below), but I think she still had a great day. She enjoyed being with her cousins and playing at the park. We sang happy birthday to her lots of times, and she knew it was her birthday. She said "Happy Birthday Ella" and "Ella two now".

We had a birthday party for her Saturday (the day after her birthday). We invited family and a few close family friends. It was a windy, chilly day, so a little crazy in the house. We had about 40 people at the party, which is a lot for the size of our house. The kids had fun playing outside, but the parents wanted to be in the warmth. Ella took a while to warm up to everyone being at her house. She didn't want to play with her friends or go around and see anyone. She finally started playing once some of the kids came inside. We had BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs with a few side dishes for dinner. Then we did cake. Her party theme was Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. My mom made the cake and it was so cute. She knew just what to do with her candles. She was cute when everyone was singing to her and she enjoyed eating her cake! We opened presents, which she was more into than I thought she would be. She took a few breaks, but mostly opened the presents and seemed to enjoy all of them. We had a great time at the party and are so thankful for the family and friends we had to share Ella's special day with.

She was so proud of herself for blowing out the candles!

She got a Tinker Bell dress for her birthday, which she wore while opening the rest of her gifts.
