Andrew's 3rd Birthday

We celebrated Andrew's 3rd birthday last weekend. Saturday we had a party at our house with our immediate family (although that means 20 people!). We got Andrew a new wooden play gym for his birthday. Matt, my dad, Tim, and Rob worked on putting it together for 4 hours Friday night and then Matt and I worked on it another 3 Saturday morning. When we finally got to show Andrew, he was his typical self...he walked out really shy with his head down not really sure what to do. Once he got on, though, he was super excited and happy. He and Ryleigh played on it a lot at his party and had a great time. His party started at 12. We had a small lunch, had cake and ice cream, and Andrew opened his gifts. Andrew and I had to leave at 3 to go to his friend's William's birthday party. We had more fun and more cake at William's party. Andrew was very worn out by the end of the day.

Sunday morning we went to church and then came home to get ready for his party with his friends. Andrew got to have his party at Whittle Train Station in Valley Park. They have a big party room and a separate room with a big train table for birthday parties. His party was from 2:00-3:30. The party started with a pinata game...all the kids got to take turns hitting the pinata with a bat. Once it broke, the kids picked up the candy. Then we did cake and ice cream, Andrew opened his gifts, and then they all got to play trains for the rest of the party. When we got home from Andrew's train party, Dean came over because he couldn't make it to the party.
It was definitely a fun and busy birthday weekend. We were all partied out and spent the first few days of this week recovering! It was especially tough for Ella...she was totally off schedule. I think Andrew had a great time and loved his birthday! And now he's 3!!
