Andrew is 5! I can't believe it! He has grown into a very sweet little boy. He is so fun to be around and has a contagious laugh. He had a great time celebrating his birthday....he counted down the days. These pictures are a little out of order, but I'll just tell about his birthday celebration with the pictures.
Papa came over the night before Andrew's party to give him his present. It was a remote control monster truck. Andrew loves it! He gets to drive it outside in the street.
Andrew's birthday was on a Monday. He had school, so he got to stay for lunch and took cupcakes to share with his friends. We spent the rest of the day at home together. When Matt got home, he opened his presents from us. We got him a new "big kid" scooter. He thought that was really cool. He loves riding it and doing "tricks". Luke and Ella got him two Dr. Seuss books and Buzz Light Year Operation game. We had burgers and fries for dinner, per Andrew's request and enjoyed the evening together playing the new games Andrew got for his birthday.
This year we attempted Andrew's birthday at the park. We rented the pavilion, knowing there would be a chance of rain or cold weather. It turned out great. It was windy and just a little chilly, but the sun was shining! Andrew wanted a Monster Truck Birthday. This is the cake Grammy made for him. It looks awesome!
Andrew had a great time at his party. He played at the playground, played tire toss, and went to the lake with his friends and family. As everyone got there, the kids played and the adults hung out. Then we had hot dogs and chips, followed by cake. Andrew got to open his presents, which despite his lack of expression (gets it from his Papa), he loved. He got a lot of cool stuff...toys, games, and clothes.
Andrew and Ella were both pretty tired from a day of partying. Andrew played with some of his toys when we got home and then they both headed to bed. Andrew had an awesome birthday. We are blessed with so many great friends and family who help make our kids feel extra special. Five is a HUGE milestone. I don't know if I'm prepared for all the upcoming events over the next year....but more on that in a future post.
