7 Months

I'm a little behind on blogging, so Luke is actually 7.5 months at this point....and yet it still feels like I just wrote his 6 month blog! At about 6.5 months Luke finally figured out the official crawl. It didn't take him long to get fast. Now he explores the whole house. Crawling has brought out a little bit of Luke's personality that we hadn't quite seen yet. While crawling Luke of course finds places he shouldn't be or finds things he shouldn't play with. Luke isn't so happy when you remove him or take something from him. He gets rather upset and throws a little fit. He is still a happy, sweet baby boy, though!

Luke's sleeping has taken a slight step back. It is getting better at this point, but for several weeks, he was waking up several times a night. The only thing that worked to get him back to sleep was nursing or sleeping with him. He is back to (on most nights) sleeping until 4 or 5. He still has a little trouble with naps....he wakes up too early and can't get back to sleep. I'm hoping he gets back to waking up once (or none would be great, but I can handle once) and long naps.

Before he turned 7 months old, Luke started pulling himself up, but wouldn't stay standing. Now he can pull himself up on most everything and stand there for several minutes. Luke also loves dancing. Matt got him dancing in his jumperoo one night and now he loves music. He jumps to the music in the jumperoo or if we are holding him. If he's on his hands and knees, he rocks back and forth to the beat. And if he's sitting, he moves his arms and legs. It is so cute! Sometimes he will crawl to the stereo and start dancing so we will turn the music on for him. His favorites are Steve Miller Band and Lynard Skynard.

Luke is doing great with a sippy cup and starting some finger foods. He eats puffs, cheerios, cheese, and bananas. He actually still isn't that great at solid foods. He has no problem getting them into his mouth, but he still gags and chokes on some of the things I've tired (peas, green beans, pasta). But that's okay because he loves his baby food. He's a great eater. Matt and I were talking about how different he and Ella are. Ella refused to eat baby food and would not let anyone feed her. She was constantly grabbing the spoon and insisting she do it herself. Luke just sits back and lets us feed him....makes dinner time easier.

And of course we can't end a post without pictures of Sweet Luke. Luke has lots of fun with Daddy, Andrew, and Ella. He wants to get in on all the action. He always watches closely when they are wrestling and rough housing and now he crawls right over to join in. Just check out the smile he has during his horsey ride with Daddy.Sleeping with Daddy on the couch....he is so sweet I could cry.

Luke sporting his Cardinals gear. I love him in his hat.

Luke loves his new crawling ability. He doesn't miss out on anything anymore!!
