Luke's First Swim

Luke loves, loves, loves the water!!! I posted before how much he loves the bath, and he loves the pool just as much. The above pics are from his first swim at Grandpa Dean's and Grandma Tina's house. We have been several times since and he loves it each time. He splashes, kicks, and gets so excited. It doesn't phase him at all to be splashed or get water on his face or head. He just smiles and enjoys it! I hope it continues over the years.

Andrew is doing awesome in the pool this year, too! In past years, it takes him most of the summer to feel really comfortable in the water, but not this year! Starting with the first swim of the season, Andrew goes out all by himself with the puddle jumper or water wings. He swims all over the place and has a great time. He will also hold his nose and go under water and jump in. He will swim for hours, if we let him. Hopefully soon he will let us take the water wings off and try to swim by himself. He says he wants to, so we'll see. He's been a little fish this summer and having a blast!

Ella isn't as excited about swimming. She enjoys staying on the steps at Grandpa Dean's pool. At first, she wouldn't even let us take her out in the middle if we held her. Yesterday we swam at Mimi's house and she did let me take her out. She did much better. She only held onto my hands and swam around....with a smile on her face. Hopefully that's a start and she can enjoy swimming the rest of the summer.
