Batter Up!

Andrew is playing t-ball this year! He is one of the youngest (if not the youngest) on the team and since he's already a little shy, we were worried how he would do. He said he was excited and wanted to play. Matt took him to a winter warm-up a few weeks ago. Matt said he did pretty good, but Matt did have to go with him everywhere at first. Andrew eventually started warming up. When he got home, he seemed really excited. He told me about catching the ball and running really fast. We bought him a metal bat and some balls as part of his birthday present, so Andrew and Matt have been practicing. Andrew is pretty good at batting, he's a little hesitant to catch, but he does love running really fast.

He had his first practice this past Tuesday. He did really well! We saw him several times playing in the dirt and not really paying attention to what was going on, but overall we thought he did well. He hit the ball pretty good, had a few good throws, and ran the bases. He knew after practice that you run to 1st, then 2nd, and then 3rd, so he must have been paying a little bit of attention. It was cute to see all the boys out there. They have great coaches and it should be lots of fun! They have practice every Friday and will start games in May on Fridays.
