Here Comes Santa Claus

My dad dressed up like Santa Claus for Andrew's preschool party. I couldn't believe he actually agreed to do it! I know he was nervous, but he did such a great job! It was really cute. Miss Penny had all the kids close their eyes and Santa came in and said, "Ho Ho Ho". The kids opened their eyes and just sat there. They were so quiet. A couple of them said, "Hi Santa!" One of the little boys said, "Oh my gosh". Santa handed out coloring books and cups filled with goodies to each of the kids. Then they got to give Santa a hug and we took a group picture. My dad called later to see how he did. He said he was really hot and his glasses kept steaming up so he couldn't see. I thought he did a great job, though, and was proud of him for doing it. Here are some pics:

I stayed to watch the rest of Andrew's party. They had a gift exchange and played a game to see who got what present. Andrew brought a pack of 10 Hot Wheels cars, which Braden got. Andrew got Braden's present...army guys with a motorcycle, which he loves!

Andrew with his present from Miss Penny...a book, stretchy snowman, Jesus bracelet, and cross necklace.

Ella came to the party with me and she had a great time. Ella wants to stay and play every day we drop off and pick up Andrew. She thought she was really cool when she got to sit on the ABC rug with the big kids and play with some of the toys :).

My dad changed at my brother's house across the street from Andrew's preschool. Since the suit goes over your clothes, he put on the Santa suit in the living room....where Ella watched him. She was so funny! She got closer to me with every piece of the suit Papa put on. She looked so confused. She didn't really want anything to do with him once he was in full Santa suit. We got in the van to drive across the street and Ella kept asking, "Where Papa?". He was sitting in the van as Santa. She couldn't quite figure it out. For the rest of the day, if you mentioned Santa, Ella said, "Papa". She totally remembered and realized that Papa was Santa. My dad came over to our house that night. We were sitting at the table and Ella said, "Papa, Santie, Ho ho ho". It was so cute! Hopefully she forgets by the time Santa comes on Christmas Eve.
