A couple weeks ago Matt had a 4 day weekend, so we took advantage of it and spent some fun family time together. On Thursday, we went to the zoo. Friday we stayed around the house and got some things accomplished. Saturday we went to Great Grandma and Grandpa Kliethermes' house to ride the 4-wheeler and hung out with family later. The zoo was really our only "event" but it was great to be at home together, too. And Ella was running a little fever and not feeling well, so it was good to have her home for naps.
Andrew and Ella had a great time at the zoo. Ella growled at every animal. Andrew said his favorite were the hippos. The hippos were really cool. There were about 4 of them and they were all swimming close to the underwater viewing glass. You could also see them go above water and lock mouths. We got to pet the stingrays (well, Ella didn't want anything to do with it). At first, Andrew wouldn't do it, but he eventually got his hand in there and touched one. Once he touched the first one, he wanted to keep petting them. As always, the train was a big hit with Andrew, too. We are hoping to make it back a few more times with our zoo pass my mom gave us for Christmas.
